Choose a location other than a hotel for your reception. Look into unique buildings in your city - community centers, museums, yacht clubs, golf courses. Many have banquet rooms and are less expensive than hotels.

Ask friends and family with a special talent I.E. baking, florals, musician to offer their services, many will be happy to in lieu of a gift.

Ask a friend with an especially nice car to provide the wedding transportation.

Keep the bridal party to a minimum, extra people add up to extra expenses.

When renting formal wear for the guys, ask if they include the groom for free.
