Important considerations when choosing your wedding decorations....
Color will provide the foundation of your decorating scheme. Choose wedding decorations that will compliment the color of the bridesmaids dresses and flowers.
Take photos of the locations you have chosen and use them to help guide your decisions. Be aware of the size and space and the number of guests - do you need to fill the room? Or is the space small and intimate requiring a minimum of decorating.
Try to imagine the space with the tables set, favors, flowers and candles in place and then decide if the room requires more. Avoid too much of a good thing - try to keep your decorating to a minimum and use a few key pieces to personalize your reception; a floral arch way, a balloon bouquet, carved ice sculptures are all great decorating ideas, choose one or two but not all.
If you have chosen a popular church and reception venue, they may be heavily booked and unavailable for decorating until a few hours before the wedding. Depending on the time of day, the bride and groom and the wedding party may not be able to assist with the decorations. Choose few close friends and family members that you can trust explicably to handle the task of decorating. Remember to be very clear about what goes where and if necessary, stop by briefly to confirm that all is going well.
